Joyce Samaha is a Lebanese ceramic artist. She holds a Communication Arts degree from LAU and spent 10 years in films and documentaries until she discovered the art of ceramics, a medium through which she was able to explore and express herself fully.
2016 was a transformational stage in her life, creating Earthing ceramic studio, which became a renowned creative space especially dedicated to ceramics and ceramics apprentices. Due to which Joyce took part in numerous national exhibitions.
Inspired by the spiritual experience and evolution of humans, and its parallelism with clay, her collection "Unveiling" was born.
A series of ceramic pieces portraying the stages of clay, through its softness and fragility, it molds itself, still keeping the memory of its making while hardening. The idea is to communicate our fragility as humans, as we are molded by life throughout our journey, and how we grow into becoming the beautiful imperfection of our present persona.
The result: A thin movement frozen in time.
